In Dagestan, dozens have died of pneumonia, hundreds fallen ill, but the cases are not included into COVID-19 stats
The latest discussion has began after the post by a Dagestani doctor Daniyal Alkhasov, it has become widely known after Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny shared the post at his Telegram channel.
“The department deals with pneumonia cases ONLY … In 4 days while I have been working, 12 people died in just one hospital in a small town in Dagestan. And it is obvious that all the deaths were related to coronavirus, given the epidemic and the coronavirus signs.
But if one looks at the official statistics (стопкоронавирус.рф) – just 11 people died in Dagestan of coronavirus infection (complications) in all the time of the epidemic.
We can assume then that the rest of statistics in the country is about the same, and the numbers of the dead are much higher than can be seen in the worldmeters.info or other sources.”
The popular Telegram blogger under the nickname “At Rasul” provided the following statistics:
As on April 27, in Dagestan registered:
Covid-19 – 827 cases, pneumonia – 1.649.
11 people died from Covid-2019, 51 – from pneumonia.
