Reducing toxic emissions with biodiesel. What on Earth Georgia, ep. 10
How can using biodiesel reduce air pollution?
The danger of carcinogenic diseases caused by air pollution is high in Tbilisi. But Georgians love their cars and the traffic in the city is high. Most of the cars are powered by fossil fuels, which, when burning, produce harmful emissions, such as carbon dioxide or sulphur dioxide.
That is why the alternative to the current fuels is needed. On top of acquiring an electric car, one can also consider using biodiesel – fuel made mainly out of plant-based oil.
The Biodiesel Georgia company produces such fuel, using the cooking oil from McDonalds and other small restaurants in Georgia.
This episode features Kakha Karchkhadze’s presentation for the volunteers of the Youth Droni Organization.
