Coronavirus in the Caucasus. 24-25 March, 2020

A total of 18 people have recovered after being infected with the coronavirus.

265 people have been infected with the virus since the start of the epidemic.

Since March 16, a state of emergency has been in force in Armenia.

Transport links between cities have been discontinued, and residents are required to stay at home. If it is necessary to go out residents are obliged to carry their passport and a special completed application form, which indicates at what time and for what purpose they are outside the house.

The total number of registered cases is 93 people. There have been two deaths, while 10 people have recovered.

Of these, six have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. One patient is in critical condition, he is 77 years old. Four are in serious condition.

As the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during a live feed, most of the patients are in the Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital, and the rest are in other medical centres.

Most patients do not have a fever or symptoms of the disease.

“The main reason they are in the hospital is so that they do not infect others,” said the prime minister.

The new restrictions include but are not limited to:

● Railway traffic in the country has been completely stopped;

● Passenger transportation between cities by public transport is prohibited, however minibus travel between district centers and villages is allowed, as is travel by private vehicle;

● All kinds of sports training and cultural events are prohibited, both indoors and outdoors;

● Conferences and seminars can be held only online.

● The ban on more than 10 people gathering in one place remains in effect.

On March 21, a state of emergency was introduced in Georgia.

Since that time, all stores have been closed, except for grocery stores and pharmacies.

There have been 66 cases in Georgia, while eight patients recovered. There are 3.320 people in quarantine.

All individuals that tested positive on March 23-24 were in isolation before they were taken to the clinic.

Three Georgian citizens infected with the coronavirus have died in Spain.

A state of emergency was declared in Georgia on March 21 to stop the coronavirus pandemic.

On March 23, quarantine was introduced in the cities of Marneuli and Bolnisi in the Kvemo Kartli region due to the threat of an outbreak of the coronavirus.

It is expected that starting March 24 new restrictions will be introduced to prevent an even greater spread of the virus.

Since March 16, a state of emergency has been in effect in Armenia. On March 23, the National Assembly approved a system of penalties for violating the requirements of isolation and self-isolation.

Long-distance passenger transportation by buses and minibuses is now prohibited in Georgia, including intercity and railway passenger transport

Transport by private vehicle is still permitted.

There have been 61 cases in Georgia, while eight patients recovered. There are 3.254 people in quarantine, while 233 are under observation in hospitals.

Starting March 24, a special quarantine regime has gone into effect in Azerbaijan.  It will last until April 20. People over the age of 65 are not allowed to leave their homes, in addition to several other vulnerable groups of people.

According to official data, 72 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Azerbaijan.  One person has died, ten have recovered.
