Abkhazia cuts off all contact with Georgia
Acting President Valery Bganba gave the order to close the border.
Bganba has already ordered the government to stop issuing passes from Abkhazia to Georgia until April 7 due to the fact that several people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Georgia.
Chief sanitation officer Lyudmila Skorik says that Enguri Dam workers are allowed to cross the border, as long as they have no contact with Georgian citizens. Those who must undergo medical treatment are also able to cross the border, but will only be able to return to Abkhazia once the restrictions have been lifted.
There are no reported cases of coronavirus in Abkhazia.
