Several Russian cities join in the 'Voters’ strike'

Supporters of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny held a series of rallies across Russia today, 28 January 28, calling for a ‘voters’ boycott’ of the presidential election.

The election is due in March 2018. The central electoral commission has turned down Navalny’s bid as a candidate, prompting him to claim the election has been rigged even before it’s started.

Navalny was arrested before he could join his supporters rallying in Moscow.
