Narek Avoyan, 25, the head of the Armenian Parkour & Free-running Federation:
“I was 10, when I first started jumping off of garage roofs and climbing up the building walls. I didn’t know anything about parkour at that time, but I enjoyed surmounting obstacles. Then I watched the film ‘District 13’ and I was very much impressed by parkour tricks.
I’ve experienced more than 3,000 traumas over the past 15 years and I have undergone 6 surgeries on my left knee alone. But this has never made me feel upset. Parkour is a lifestyle.”
