Georgian doctor infected, 100 medical workers in self-isolation
An infectious disease specialist at Sachkhere Hospital in Western Georgia was diagnosed with COVID-19. Hospital Director Mikhail Kamushadze says that she may have been infected by a patient.
The specialist doctor is the wife of the mayor Sachkhere, who himself tested negative for the virus, as did 10 employees of the Sachkhere Medical Center who had direct contact with the now infected infectious disease specialist. About 100 clinic employees in total went into self-isolation.
The Sachkhere hospital has been accepting COVID-19 patients since the virus first spread to Georgia, and is currently treating 3 coronavirus patients.
The Sachkhere case was the fifth reported incident where a Georgian doctor tested positive for the virus. Before that, there had been one nurse at an infectious diseases hospital in Batumi, two nurses at a hospital on the Tbilisi Sea, as well as a Tbilisi ambulance doctor, who, unlike other paramedics, did not catch the virus on the job, but rather at home, from his wife.

Another 39 new cases in Azerbaijan, total 57 in one day

Two nurses infected in Tbilisi Sea Hospital in Georgia
They have been taken to the First University Clinic for treatment; they are in satisfactory condition.
The clinic stopped taking patients for several hours. After the disinfection was carried out and the employees were tested for coronavirus, the hospital resumed work.
Five hospital employees were quarantined because they had direct contact with the infected.
A total of 188 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed since the outbreak.
Of these, 36 people have recovered – two people have died.
5,056 people are in quarantine, 386 people in the hospital under supervision.
A state of emergency was declared in Georgia on March 21 to stop the coronavirus pandemic.
On March 31, a curfew was imposed throughout Georgia.

18 new cases in Azerbaijan, 602 in total
According to official information, all new cases have been recorded in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
Seven people have died in the epidemic in Azerbaijan, 32 have recovered.
A stricter quarantine regime has been introduced in Azerbaijan – the metro is closed, but the buses are running. The work of most enterprises, offices, restaurants and shops, except for grocery and drugstores, has been suspended.
People are required to stay at home. Starting April 5, restrictions on movement have been introduced – before leaving the house, residents will have to inform the authorities via SMS.
For violation of the quarantine regime will be a fine.

Eighth death in Armenia, 11 new cases
The deceased patient was 68 years old, and had several serious chronic diseases.
Armenia has recorded another 11 new cases of infection as of the morning of April 6. On April 5, 52 new cases were reported in Armenia.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that “serious progress has been made and it is necessary to adhere to the quarantine regime in order to avoid a new leap and to be able to return to the old way of life.”

Another eight cases announced in Georgia today, bringing the total number of cases to 156. 28 people have recovered.

An ambulance paramedic has tested positive for COVID-19 after being infected by his wife. She is one of seven employees of the National Bank who became infected with the coronavirus. According to one account of events, this happened as a result of contact with banknotes.
The emergency department where the infected doctor worked is closed. Epidemiologists have compiled a list of people with whom he had contacts.
