Armenian sambo athletes win medals at the World Championships in Sochi
Armenian athletes won five medals at the Sambo World Championships currently taking place in Sochi.
Grigor Mkhitaryan and Tigran Kirakosyan won two gold medals, Vachik Vardanyan walked away with silver while Maksim Manukyan and Arsen Khandzhian received bronse.
The youth section of the championship has also come to a close in the Serbian city of Novy Sad, where Armenian athletes won eight medals – four bronze, three silver and one gold.
Another medal was one by an athlete from Armenia by the name of Anna Mkrtchyan, who took home silver in the 81 kg category.
