Armenian PM: US$ 3,2 mln worth investment programs approved
Armenian Premier, Karen Karapetyan said, US $3,2 million worth programs have been approved so far. They have particular sources of funding; the outcome has been mapped out and job opportunities will be created as part of those projects. “It is planned to invest US $830-850 million out of this sum in 2017. The government is currently considering US $5,3 billion worth programs. Those are deliberate projects that can work as business, can create additional value and job opportunities.
PM Karapetyan stated about it in Echmiadzin. The Prime Minister met with Echmiadzin electorate as part of the parliamentary election campaign, launched in Armenia on March 5. He noted, in particular, that US $85 million worth investment programs are planned to be launched in Armavir province [Echmiadzin is located in this province]. 3,500 jobs will be created through those projects. At the same time, there are also ongoing talks on launching the investment programs that will provide for US $65 mln-worth long-term investments.
As PM Karapetyan pointed out, 2017 should become the year of diagnostics, public administration reform and stabilization.
“If we do all that, and we will certainly do, we will see quite definite, regular, sustainable and unhampered growth starting from 2018. That, certainly, doesn’t mean that we are not committed to ensure growth in 2017, but we must be realistic. And those realistic approaches have been incorporated in the 2017 budget,” said Karapetyan.
