The first explosion was heard at the Kopt Church of St. George in the city of Tanta, 130 kilometers from the south-east of Alexandria, resulting in the deaths of 25 people.
The patriarch of the Christian church, Kopts Tavardos II was present in the church at the moment of the attack. Official sources has informed us that he has not been injured.
Later on another terrorist act occured: a bomb exploded at the St. Mark’s church in Alexandria, with 11 parishioners becoming victims of the attack.
More than 100 people were wounded as a result of the terrorist act, reports BBC.
The terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for both attacks, writes Euronews.
