2021 Parliamentary Elections in Armenia

Armenian parliament dissolves itself

Early parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 20 in Armenia. The authorities and the opposition have come to the conclusion that only elections can resolve the political crisis that arose after the Karabakh war.

After the defeat of Armenia, the opposition demanded the resignation of the prime minister. But Nikol Pashinyan said that he was elected by a popular vote and would not leave at the request of only opposition supporters.

As a result, he agreed with the opposition to hold new elections and, on April 25, announced his resignation in order to begin dissolving the parliament.
