Frontline clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia
Armed clashes on the front line between Azerbaijan and Armenia continue. Both parties confirm escalation of tension on the night of February 25, accusing each other of provocation.

“On the night of February 25, with the aim to carry out a large-scale provocation, the units of the Armenian Armed Forces attempted to penetrate into Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ positions along the front line, in different directions … The most severe clashes were reported in the south-eastern direction, in Khojavend – Fizuli provinces.”

Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesperson:
“On February 25, from 3 a.m.till 4 a.m., an attempt was made to deliver an attack in two directions on the contact line between the Azerbaijani and Karabakh armed forces – on southeastern (Martuni) and eastern (Akna) sections.
“Azerbaijani armed forces also opened fire in the direction of Armenia, near Baghanis village, Tavush province.”
Casualties
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry:
“Azerbaijani army units managed to suppress the enemy’s attempt to penetrate deep into the area and occupy the strategic positions.”
The Azerbaijani side incurred casualties in clashes, though the precise number of those killed and wounded hasn’t not been made public yet.

“The NKR Defense Army managed to fling the enemy back. The latter suffered losses.
No one has been killed or wounded from the Armenian side. The firefight didn’t last long.”
