Party of current Ukrainian president takes parliamentary elections
According to a national exit poll of the parliamentary elections, the party of the incumbent president and former comedic actor Volodymyr Zelensky, Servant of the People has come out on top, receiving 43.9% of the vote.
The pro-Russian Opposition Platform — For Life came in second with 11.5%.
Former President Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity received 8.9% while the party of the former Prime Minister Yulia Timoschenko, Batkivshchyna, took 7.6%.
The Verkhovna Rada will also include a new party, founded by the famous musician Svyatostav Vakarchuk, Holos [Ukr. voice], which received 6.3%.
The remaining parties did not overcome the 5% barrier.
