NATO, Armenia to set up trust fund
Armenia will set up a trust fund with NATO – Mher Israelyan, Deputy Head of the Defense Policy Department at the Armenian Ministry of Defense (MoD), reported.
“It is expected to carry out two programs as part of the fund. The first provides for the disposal of 130 unserviceable armored vehicles. They will be disposed of as part of the NATO program. It is expected to attract EUR 1.3 million in funding for that purpose,” said Israelyan.
In his words, the second program deals with humanitarian demining and improving the methods of raising awareness of residents of bordering communities with regard to this issue.
According to the Deputy Head of the Defense Policy Department, the trust fund will be set up in the upcoming two months.
