An economic measure. White instead of black
The Agriculture Ministry has announced about the procurement of new American combine harvesters and now Azerbaijan is ready to turn from a crude oil country into a cotton feedstock one.
Public employees and students have been immediately herded to harvest cotton, like in good Soviet times.
A cost-effective measure
SOCAR President, Rovnag Abdullayev, has suggested solving the household gas-related problem through economizing. “People usually use gas to heat their apartments in cold weather, but as it gets warmer, they just open the windows instead of reducing gas consumption, he has complained.
An alternative-ethic measure
A way to raise some funds for the needy public employees has been also found.
Khadi Rajabli, an MP, has stated as follows: “If a teacher earns AZN 150-200 and can’t provide for himself/herself, he/she should be engaged in some additional activity after the work. In Veravul village, Lenkoran, there is a teacher, whose name is Balabek. He delivers classes in the morning hours and afterwards works as a stonemason.
An aesthetic measure
A problem with Manat rate drop has been also solved, and this time again by MP, Siyavuş Novruzov.
The MP’s proposal: is as follow: “Russia has issued money showing images of various tsars. I’m not suggesting that people should stick Heydar Aliyev’s signature on their cars, but our national currency should bear his portrait.
Actually, if not him then who? Earlier, Novruzov suggested no less impeccable solution for dealing with online defamation and provocations, simply obliging the users to enter their ID data before making each comment.
Siyavuş Novruzov, an MP, a financier, an IT-specialist and all-around nice guy.
So, the measures have been taken. We can sleep safely now.
