Wine and grape festival - government structures sponsor advertising for new wine factory
A grape and wine festival has been held in Azerbaijan on the territory of the complex of viticulture and winemaking of Shirvan Sharablary LLC.
Participants said that the event also served as an advertisement for the new winery.
The Shirvan Sharablari winery opened in 2018 and is registered under a Baku address, although it is located in Meysari village in the Shamakhi region (in the northeast Azerbaijan).
President Ilham Aliyev and the first lady attended the opening, as was reported by a long news article on the president’s official site.
The festival was organized with help from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Meysari Wines Facebook page states. The organisers include the Ministry of Agriculture and other government bodies.
Shamakhi is located about 120 kilometers from Baku, but those who wanted to attend the event were brought by bus for free.
Festival participants were offered free wine and grapes, and to purchase bottles of wine at a low price. There were also many shows and other forms of entertainment.
