Gazprom, the largest supplier of gas in Russia, has vouched to have gas installed all over South Ossetia by the end of 2019.
The gas price is expected to increase from $0.07 to $0.09 per cubic meter – the same as the price for North Ossetia.
The presidential press service reported that The agreement was made at a meeting between Anatoly Bibilov, the South Ossetian president, and Alexey Miller, the head of Gazprom.
“The contract will be signed in September, with Gazprom commencing the installation of gas in South Ossetia the following year. Gazprom is ready to invest over USD 405 million in the gas supply infrastructure”, Anatoly Bibilov told the press.
Gas in South Ossetia is currently being supplied only to Tskhinval from Russia, through the Dzurikau-Tskhinval gas pipeline which was constructed in 2007-2009.
