EUR 16 million allocated to support women-led business in Armenia
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated EUR 16 million through the local Ameria and Acba Credit Agricole creditor banks as part of the Women in Business program for development of women-led small and medium business. The women will be also offered consulting and technical assistance.
Women in Business program is funded by the EBRD, EU, Swedish government, as well as the Early Transition Countries Fund.
“Facilitation of women-led businesses is vital for driving economic growth in the region. Women entrepreneurship presents a viable investment in the national economy and women-led businesses are rapidly growing to compare with men-led enterprises,” Margareta Kristianson , Charge d’ affaires of the Embassy of Sweden, stated at a news conference dedicated to the launch of the program.
EBRD has been implementing the Women in Business program in 16 countries.
