Baku residents brought flowers and toys to the Russian Embassy in Baku in sympathy for the numerous victims who died in a deadly fire at a shopping mall in the Russian city of Kemerovo.
Flowers were placed at the façade of the Russian Embassy building, and some people brought toys as more than 40 of those who died were children.
Members of the Russian community in Azerbaijan also participated.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev offered his condolences to Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
At least 64 people were killed after a fire broke out at a shopping mall in the Russian city of Kemerovo, Western Siberia, on 25 March, with 13 people still in hospital.
The Meduza online media outlet cited the victims’ relatives saying that 41 children were killed in the fire.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the incident scene.
Russia declared 28 March as a national day of mourning.
