Azerbaijan state body releases parental control web programme
A parental control and internet security programme has been created in Azerbaijan called Kidsafe.
Kidsafe protects children from inappropriate content which they may stumble upon on the internet. It also keeps parents informed on what sites their children visit.
The programme was developed by the State Committee on Family, Women and Children as part of the Child Safety on the Internet project recommended by the UN Committee for Children’s Rights.

The reaction of parents
Parents have reacted coolly to the application, and social media users are critical as well:
“Any child can nowadays bypass [such programmes] without any problems.”
“The programme is designed only for Windows and Android. What about Apple, has the committee not heard of it?”
“Why reinvent the wheel? Kaspersky has had a solution for a long time.”
The programme can be downloaded free of charge from www.kidsafe.az.
