The Armenian President, Serzh Sargsyan visited the U.S. Embassy in Armenia on the occasion of the Independence Day of the United States of America. President Sargsyan congratulated the U.S. Ambassador, Richard Mills and the embassy staff.
Ambassador Mills and President Sargsyan jointly planted an apricot tree in the U.S. Embassy yard as a symbol of friendly relations between the two nations.
Ambassador Mills thanked the Armenian President for his visit and congratulations, noting that he was pleased and proud to plant the apricot tree together with the Armenian President on the occasion of the 241st anniversary of the USA’s independence, as well as the 25th anniversary of the U.S.-Armenian diplomatic relations.
Serzh Sargsyan, in turn, praised the close cooperation between the USA and Armenia, which has developed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also stressed the importance of a dialogue with the USA ‘in this rapidly changing and challenging world’.
Serzh Sargsyan also sent a congratulations message to the U.S. President, Donald Trump.
