Almost 500 people died on Georgian roads in 2019
5,839 road traffic accidents were recorded in Georgia in 2019, as a result of which 481 people died – this is five per cent more than the previous year. As a result of accidents, 7,921 people were injured.

The non-governmental organization Alliance of Georgia for Safe Roads reported this data while citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In 2019, 19 teenagers died as a result of accidents, of which three were pedestrians.
In Tbilisi alone, in 2019, 2,891 road accidents were recorded, as a result of which 100 people were killed and 3,430 received various injuries.
Compared to 2018, the number of fatalities on the country’s roads increased by five per cent (the number of deaths increased by 22), while the total number of accidents decreased by 9.5 percent, and the number of those injured decreased by 12 percent.
