29 people died from the Hepatitis virus in Azerbaijan last year
Eighteen people died from acute Hepatitis B, and eleven people died from Hepatitis C in Azerbaijan last year – the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan reports.
According to the Report news agency, a total of 319 patients with various forms of the Hepatitis virus (A,C,В) were registered in Azerbaijan in 2016. Of that number, 126 were diagnosed with acute Hepatitis B, whereas 120 patients – acute Hepatitis C. Women made up nearly 30% of the total number of patients, with children under 17 years of age – 10%.
The number of registered Hepatitis patients has slightly dropped compared to the previous two years. According to the Health Ministry’s data, 242 Hepatitis B patients and 181 Hepatitis C patients were registered in Azerbaijan in 2014.
