‘Pathetic’, ‘amazing’, ‘thanks to Borjomi for this journey, “I can’t stop crying’ – with these words the Facebook users were sharing ‘Borjomi’ mineral water’s new website, dedicated to the company’s 125th anniversary.

A digital project entitled – ‘Borjomi 125’ offers visitors an adventurous journey through time.

Along with evolution of ‘Borjomi’ bottle, one will have a glance at how the life changed in Tbilisi.

The interior of an ordinary apartment in Tbilisi will change thirteen times right in front of your eyes. “Borjomi bottle is the only thing that remains unchanged in this interior. It has always been on Tbilisi families’ table, at all times and epochs.

125-year history of “Borjomi is divided into decades. Click the button and you will travel from one epoch to another and see what was going on in Tbilisi at that time – how the apartments were arranged , how people entertained themselves, what they read, what music they listened to, what they were interested in.

The project was implemented by the Georgian “ButterFly creative agency. The company says, it was not an easy task to organize an ‘unforgettable journey’ and it has had to conduct a large-scale research work for that purpose. Dimitry Khupenia, a writer, collected the era-specific press clippings, while Tornike Karchkhadze, a musician, actually re-produced the sounds characteristic of each epoch using the archival materials and state-of-the-art technologies.

While looking through the photos, don’t forget to ‘click’ on the newspapers, a record-player and a TV set. Don’t miss a nostalgic noise of an old sewing machine and the windows of the 30s, tightly closed with shutters.
