6 p.m. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Prosecutor’s Office made an official statement, saying the Muslim Unity Movement is a terrorist group. A special operation aimed at arresting leader of the aforesaid organization, Tale Bagirov and his companions-in-arms, was conducted by the MoI forces. The police were offered resistance. The Islamists used grenades and firearms. 4 members of the criminal group were killed, several individuals were wounded. At present, the Islamists have blocked a road in the settlement center and do not let ‘strangers’, including journalists, there. As our correspondent reports, the local ATV broadcaster’s vehicle was smashed, the reported of the same TV company was beaten. As Radio Liberty reports, Nardaran residents are preparing Molotov cocktails and arming themselves in any possible way.

Local residents’ clash with the police has again occurred in Nardaran settlement, in Baku. Clinical hospital #3 has confirmed the admittance of several injured, not specifying their number – Radio Liberty reports. There have been reports that two persons were killed and the Islamists’ movement leader, Tale Bagirov, as well as several other individuals, were arrested. APA News Agency reports that the police were offered resistance during certain operation in Nardaran; one of the persons, who were killed, is a police officer. The Prosecutor’s Office has not made any official comments yet.
