Video: A story of how a woman became a police officer in one of Georgia's most patriarchal communities

Nurlana Akhmedova is an ethnic Azerbaijani and a policewoman, which is pretty unusual for Gardabani – one of Georgia’s most patriarchal regions. Nurlana tries to protect women against domestic violence and educates children on the problem at schools. She says that she tries to be strong so that other women may also find enough strength to protect themselves against violence.
