Ghosts of Sadon
The village of Sadon was established in the 19th century near a mine in the mountains of North Ossetia. It expanded and prospered until 2002 when a mudslide destroyed most of the village killing some of the residents.
Most of the survivors have left, leaving the remnants of the houses and gardens abandoned.
A few have not moved and still live in Sadon. They say they are like ghosts for the rest of North Ossetia.
