Alexander Lapshin, a blogger who has been staying in the Baku pre-trial detention facility, has been taken to a medical aid center after being diagnosed with tachycardia.
“Lapshin complained of chest pain the day before. He was taken to a private clinic for medical examination and was diagnosed there,” Alexander Chernin, the blogger’s lawyer, told Turan news agency.
Lapshin regularly underwent medical examination and, according to his lawyer, has had no complaints either of his health or detention conditions.He has also met his relatives several times.
Alexander Lapshin, 40, a traveling blogger, was arrested on 15 December 2016 in Minsk (Belarus) on Azerbaijan’s request . He has been accused of trespassing the state border (his visits to Karabakh), as well as of carrying out anti-national activity, as he criticized Azerbaijani policy on his web-based publications.
Lapshin was extradited from Minsk to Baku on 7 February 2017.
