Azerbaijani serviceman captured on the contact line

“The Azerbaijani forces made an attempt of sabotage infiltration for reconnaissance proposes through the Nagorno Karabakh contact line, on February 1,” Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry press service reported. The incident reportedly occurred in the northern (Talish) direction of the contact line, at about 3 p.m. As reported, the subversive group took advantage of the ‘favorable’ foggy weather condition.

“The advancement of the Azerbaijani special squad officers was timely detected. As a result of the anti-sabotage measures, the Armenian border guards managed to capture Azerbaijani serviceman, Elnur Huseynzade, DoB 1995,” reads the report.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry published a statement on its website, denying the aforesaid report.

“The Armenian side’s disseminated report on alleged provocation…is false. There haven’t been any military operations on the front line. As far as Elnur Huseynzade is concerned…he had violated the military discipline and was discharged from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces,” Azerbaijani MoD statement reads.
