Armenian Cassation Court Chairman loaned money and received interest
According to the declarations published by the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials of Armenia, since 2008, Arman Mkrtumyan, the Chair of the Armenian Court of Cassation, has loaned US $185,790 and received the interest amounting to AMD 6 million 815,000 (US $14,000).
In 2014, Mkrtumyan indicated this sum (US $185,790) as monetary resource, whereas in 2015-2016, it was documented as a loan for which the official drew the interest.
At the same time, as it is pointed out in the declaration, Mkrtumyan’s monetary assets made AMD 17 million (US$33,000) early last year, whereas at the end of the year they amounted to AMD 20 million (US $41,000). His income made AMD 23, 783 (US $49,000), including $14,000 –the amount of interest received from loaning the sum, and the rest of the income– the salary.
As the Ethic Commission reported, Mkrtumyan, like many other officials, didn’t declare movable and immovable assets. However, in 2015-2016, his wife, Marine Mkrtumyan, who is unemployed, declared monetary resources amounting to US $30,000.
