EU concerned about escalation of tension on the frontline in Karabakh

EU supports the OSCE Minsk Group efforts for settlement of Nagorno- Karabkah conflict.

EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Malena Mard, stated on the aforesaid when commenting on the recent clashes on Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line – report.az news agency reports.

In her words, status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh is unsustainable.

The EU envoy also reported that EU Special Representative, Herbert Salber, is going to visit Azerbaijan in the near future and the conflict resolution issue would be discussed during the visit.

According to Malena Mard, “EU and Azerbaijan are preparing for a new round of talks on conclusion of the strategic cooperation deal.”

In the EU Ambassador’s words, the new round of talks would be held in the near future. Cooperation on various fields, such as migration, trade, improvement of public administration etc., will be in focus during the talks.
