WhatsApp, Viber and Skype unblocked in Azerbaijan
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan has commented on the recent problems with online telecom services in the country.
“Temporary restrictions on telecom services (Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, etc.), imposed in Azerbaijan as part of security measures during the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, created certain difficulties in the online use of communication apps for making ordinary and video calls,” Azerbaijani Transport and Communications Ministry pointed out in its official statement.
According to the Ministry, network updating was carried out alongside numerous preventive measures.
“Technical updating has been completed at this stage. So, Azerbaijani citizens can now use those communication apps for making local and international phone calls,” the Ministry stated.
