In the past people used to recycle bottles so as not to have trash piling up at home. Now though, bottle collecting is the only source of income for hundreds of people. Some have been putting bread on the table in this way for 20 years already – and some even longer.

About 20.6 per cent of the population in Georgia lives below the poverty line.
