Speaking in the European Parliament, Armenia’s prime minister addressed not only the possibility of EU membership but also the peace process with Azerbaijan, the upcoming June elections and the domestic political situation.

According to the prime minister, any country is “vulnerable without a strong army”, which is why Armenia is strengthening the defence capabilities of its armed forces. Former presidents, however, have accused the current authorities of “weakening the most combat-ready army in the region”.
