The ‘Geroi Arsenala’ (Heroes of the Arsenal) dry-cargo ship sank in the Black Sea. As reported, 5 out of 12 crew members have been rescued. There is 1 Georgian national among those who died.
According to the press service of the Crimean Emergency Situations Main Department, an SOS distress signal was received at around 3:45 a.m., local time.
Russian RIA Novosti reported that 5 crew members had been rescued and the remaining 7 members were still missing. The dry-cargo vessel was sailing under the Panamanian flag.
Among 12 crew members there were reportedly 9 Ukrainian nationals, 2 Russians and 1 Georgian.
The dry-cargo ship was reportedly transporting grain from the Russian Azov sea port to Turkey.
