Russian dirt on Clinton? ‘I love it,’ Donald Trump Jr. said
A scandal involving Donald Trump-junior has not ceased, The New York Times reports.
In June 2016, when the presidential campaign was in full blossom, he had a meeting with Natalya Veselnitskaya, a Russian lawyer, who claimed to be in possession of information compromising Hillary Clinton.
Trump-junior does not deny he met with Veselnitskaya, but says she did not possess any information.
Natalya Veselnitskaya also denies that the American elections were an issue at the meeting.
The New York Times has a version of its own though. It reports that the information compromising Clinton was in fact an issue at the meeting. Moreover, Trump-junior knew the source – the Russian government.
The Magnitsky list (a list of Russians sanctioned by the US) was also a point of discussion.
The meeting was organized by Emin Agalarov, an acquaintance of Veselnitskaya, and ex-husband of Leila Alieva, the Azerbaijani president`s eldest daughter. His father, Aras Agalarov, and President Trump met in Moscow, where they hosted the “Miss Universe” contest in 2013.
Aras Agalarov is one of the hundred richest men in Russia.
Born in Baku, he moved to Moscow in the 1980s.
His business – the joint Soviet-American Crocus Group – was established in 1989. At the time, this kind of organisation was officially under control of the Soviet special services.
Emin Agalarov helps his father with the family business – development, trade and showbiz – and pursues a career in music as a pop singer.
Soso Pavliashvili is one of many artists produced by the Agalarov family.
