Ronaldinho, the world soccer legend, to open soccer academy in Baku

FC Gabala has formalized a 3-year contract with Ronaldinho, the Brazilian soccer celebrity, on setting up the soccer academy in Baku.

Thus, Baku has become the third world city, where Ronaldinho Soccer Academy (RSA) will be operating.

The first two such academies have been functioning in Ronaldinho’s native Porto Alegre (Brazil) and in Dubai (UAE).

The contract was signed in Dubai on March 15. The soccer academy will be officially opened in Baku on September 1, 2017 –FC Gabala’s press release reads.

The school, that is designed for football players above 6, will offer fee-based and free of charge trainings on high-quality sports grounds. The school also provides for various social activities, including local and international trips, football summer schools, workshops and language classes entitled ‘Portuguese is Ronaldinho’s language’.

• Set up in 1995, FC Gabala performs in Azerbaijan’s championship. The Club President is Tale Heydarov (a son of the Emergency Situations Minister, Kamaleddin Heydarov), a founder and chair of the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS).

• FC Gabala has been successfully representing Azerbaijan at the international scene, getting into the Europa League’s group state two years in a row.
