Today, Russia is observing a national day of mourning for the 92 people killed in the TU-154 jet crash. 11 bodies have been recovered so far.
The plane crashed in the Black Sea, 6 km away from the Sochi shore. The main versions of what might have caused the accident are: clogged up engine, poor fuel quality, technical malfunction, and a pilot error.
Interfax agency reports there has been no evidence to suspect a terrorist attack. The tragedy took the lives of almost all members of the Russian army’s official choir – the Alexandrov Ensemble – including its director, orchestra performers and dancers.
The casualties also include nine journalists of First Channel, NTV and Zvezda.
