Georgian nationalists burn George Soros effigy in Tbilisi

Supporters of the ultraright group ‘March of Georgians’ marched through Tbilisi’s centre, protesting against the George Soros Foundation in Georgia.

Around 30 to 40 people joined the rally. They burned a George Soros effigy outside the foundation’s office in Tbilisi, demanding that it withdraw from the country immediately.

The rally participants claimed that the foundation engaged in ‘anti-national activities’ and that the local NGOs funded by it were acting ‘in the interests of other countries’.
