The national statistics service of Georgia, Geostat, has conducted a comparative analysis of salaries in the third quarter of 2018.
Main results:
1) According to Geostat, over the past year wages have increased in almost all sectors, and in the third quarter of 2018 the average monthly wage was 1,125.50 lari [$420]. This is 56 lari more than in the same period last year.
2) The highest average salaries were recorded in the financial sector – 2,354 lari [$878]. Workers in this sector received the highest annual wage growth – 26.5%.
People engaged in science and technical activities also received higher salaries – 1,868 lari [$878] – an annual growth of 8.6%.
Employees in the information and communication spheres have an average monthly salary of 1,785 GEL [$665] – an increase of 18% year-on-year.
In the construction sector, the average salary was 1,722 lari [$642]. Unlike other areas, construction salaries suffered a decrease of 13.9 per cent this year.
On average, people engaged in real estate earned about 1,483 GEL [553 dollars].
3) The lowest salaries were recorded in the field of education (586 GEL / $218) and in the agricultural sector (705 GEL / $262).
