CNN is imposing strict new rules for its coverage of Russia. From now on, articles are to be sanctioned by the network’s top management – BuzzFeed reports.
The reason for this is due to an article which had appeared on the CNN website four days earlier. It was a story about one of the Trump campaign associates meeting with Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian state controlled Direct Investments Foundation (worth USD 10 billion) four days before the inauguration.
With details still undisclosed, the article was deleted and retracted the next day, followed by the new rules being implemented.
Possible ties between Russia and the Trump campaign are currently being investigated by Congress and the Justice Department, and have already led to the resignation of Michael Flynn, the National Security Advisor.
