The Central Election Commission (CEC) has finished accepting withdrawal applications from MP candidates, parties, blocs and parties within the blocs. Overall, 52 candidates submitted withdrawal applications within the set deadline.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for April 2.
According to the CEC, ballot paper samples have been approved and sent for printing to the ‘Tigran Mets’ publishing house. Observers, proxies and Mass Media representatives are free to monitor the printing process.
Electronic voting will also be available during this election. A total of 877 people can vote through the e-voting system. Under the new Electoral Code, representatives of the country’s diplomatic missions who won’t be in Armenia on election day, as well as their family members residing abroad, can ‘participate in the election via electronic voting…by no later than 5 days before the election day.’
Electronic voting started at 8 a.m. (Yerevan time) on March 24, 2017 and will finish at 8 p.m., March 26.
