Pew RC: Armenia, Georgia most religious countries in Europe
Pew Research Center asked residents of 34 European countries whether they “believe in God”, with most people answering yes in Georgia (99%) and Armenia (95%).
The study notes that this question was not asked of Muslims.
Respondents were further asked if the were absolutely certain.
Georgia and Armenia were again in the top two, with 79 per cent of respondents in Armenia and 73 per cent in Georgia answering yes.
The infographic above shows the responses of the top 10 countries whose citizens said they believed in God and were absolutely certain.
Russia is in 15th place at just 25 per cent, while the Czech Republic was at the bottom with only 13 per cent.
Respondents were also given the option of saying they “believe in God but are less certain” and “do not believe in God”.
The answer “do not believe in God” was given by one per cent of respondents in Georgia and four per cent in Armenia.
