According to the results of round 1 of the French presidential election, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen have gained the majority of votes, 23,86% and 21,43%, respectively. One of them will become the new President of France as a result of the 7 May runoff.
According to the public opinion-based forecasts, Emmanuel Macron stands a better chance to win in this couple, with 68% against 32%.
As a reminder, Emmanuel Macron, ex-Minister of Economy, represents a moderate, centrist power in French politics. Meanwhile, Marine Le Pen, the National Front leader, pledges that, if winning the presidential race, she will end all immigration to France and make the country quit the EU.
