Yerevan hosts annual Beer Fest

The 4th Annual Beer Fest was held in Yerevan. The participants in the event, organized around the Swan Lake area, had a chance to taste not only Armenian beer, but also some renowned world brands, as well as snacks that go well with the foamy drink. Live music that was performed at the festival venue also encouraged people to join the event.
According to the Yerevan Mayor’s Office, which was an organizer of the event, the annual beer fest plays an important role in the development of event tourism in the capital. The organizers claim that the festival has already gained popularity and the number of participants is increasing year by year.
The festival aims to restore the beer traditions of Yerevan, and Armenia, as well as to introduce Armenian brewery products to the locals and tourists.
During the festival, beer was sold at half price when compared to the average market value. Treats were offered free-of-charge to participants in contests, organized in specially arranged pavilions. This year, the contests were divided into different sections – fast beer drinking, fast beer drinking using a straw, fast peanut peeling and crayfish eating etc. All winners were awarded prizes, set by the Yerevan Mayor’s Office and the brewery companies participating in the festival.
