South Ossetia to elect new president on April 9
New president of South Ossetia will be elected on April 9, the republic’s parliament has announced.
The current leader of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov has said he will be running, as has the former president Eduard Kokoity (2001-2011) and the current parliament speaker Anatoly Bibilov.
The announcing of the election date means the candidates can officially start their campaigning. The central electoral commission is already shifting into gear too.
