387,000 foreigners arrived in Georgia in the first month of this year, the country’s tourism administration reports. 154,000 of them stayed more than 24 hours on Georgia’s territory, a fact placing them in the category of tourists, which is 37,714 people, or 32.4 percent, more than in the same period in 2016.
The greatest numbers of international visitors came from Azerbaijan (15, 527 people), Turkey (79,042), Armenia (77,528), Russia (62,075) and Ukraine (10,232).
As for EU countries, most arrivals fell on Latvia, Bulgaria and Germany.
Over 2,700,000 international tourists visited Georgia in 2016, which is a 19% increase from 2015.
