Pro-Russian warlord Givi blasted in Donetsk
A pro-Russian insurgency leader Mikhail Tolstykh, aka ‘Givi’, was killed in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk early on February 8.
Representatives of the insurgency have confirmed the death, putting the blame for it at the Ukrainian special services’ doorstep. Russian news agencies report he was blown up in his own office.
Another rebel field commander Arsen Pavlov, better known as Motorola, was killed in a blast in the elevator of his apartment building last October.
Both Motorola and Givi had been active participants of the insurgency’s military standoff with the Ukrainian army in Ukraine’s east ever since it started in 2014.
