Newly elected President’s inaugural ceremony underway in South Ossetia
An inaugural ceremony of the South Ossetian President, Anatoly Bibilov, who won the 9 April presidential race, will be held at Tskhinval-based republican stadium, today, on 21 April.
The stadium can fit 5,200 spectators and will serve as the venue for such a solemn event. In the past, all inaugural ceremonies were held in the SO Government’s grand session hall or in the ‘Chermen’ concert hall.
Anatoly Bibilov himself has chosen the new place for the inaugural ceremony. As he said, he would like to see at the solemn event the people and friends of the Republic of South Ossetia, who are quite numerous in number and that there would not be enough room for all of them in the hall.
According to the South Ossetian National Security Committee, the security measures have been toughened in the republic in connection with the inaugural ceremony. Citizens’ traffic through the simplified crossing points on the border with Georgia [in Georgia’s terminology – the administrative border with South Ossetia] will be suspended from 20 April until 22 April.
