New Tesla: 300 000 in line
CNN has reported that Elon Musk, the owner of the Tesla group, published photos yesterday of the ‘Tesla Model 3’ electric car on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The new model will cost USD 35 000 – half the price of the previous model; the price reduction hopes to attract higher sales.
Last year when Tesla revealed the plan to produce the new model, potential customers were recommended to lay down a deposit of USD 1 000 in order to reserve their place in line. In a few hours the line had reached 300 000. Tesla issued a warning that it will only be able to supply ordered units beginning end of 2018.
The owner of the first vehicle produced will be Elon Musk himself, who received the rights to it from a member of the board of directors as a gift for Musk’s 46th birthday.
